Can we start a petition asking the NFL to require they sing the National Anthem correctly or stop playing it?

OK, the Super Bowl is about to start. They just played the National Anthem. When I am at a game, I want to be able to show my national pride and sing along. How can you sing along if they don’t play and sing it properly? It drives me nuts!

Anyone think we can start a petition asking the NFL – and other sports as well – to require traditional singing of the National Anthem, or out of respect to the nation and the song not sing it at all?

    I hate it when the singers make the National Anthem their “own song”…

    It destroys everything the Anthem is about…

    I agree. I am in Iraq, and my unit along with hundreds of soldiers watched the game in the chow hall. We all had to stand at attention for the singing of our national anthem. I was really embarrased to stand at attention for that disaster of a version of our country’s song. When it is played in a traditional form it takes my breath away, and brings a tear to my eye. Not this time.

    Thank you! More people actually think this way. My family and I were watching it and we heard the anthem and we just looked at each other saying like “WTF IS THIS”. It’s like they ALWAYS wreck it at most football games.

    I can’t stand how they like remake the song. If you can’t sing it right, then don’t sing it. It’s bad enough they change it but was is worse is that it sounds horrible. Like the original sounds so much better. They are making fools of themselves. The only people who I think will sing it right are country singers.

    I’m sick of hearing “Home of the FREEEEEEEE yeayea and the Ho OME of the BRAVuhuhuh” It’s like stop with the little remix. You SUCK when you remix the song.

    But yes. We should hold a petition. People who sing our nation athem like that are an embarressment. No joke.
