Football Clubs struggle to Raise Income
Traditional revenue channels are faltering for sports teams who are finding sources of income to be more difficult to generate.
Recent news has reported that Manchester United lost its sponsorship deal with insurance company AIG as it fails under the credit crunch highlighting the risks of high-stake global investment.
The Times Online reports that 20 clubs in the top 2 divisions are said to be seeking new sponsorship deals that are worth up to £100m per year to English football.
Clubs in lower divisions could be the most vulnerable too, struggling to find companies with enough cash to fund the sponsorship of a football club, posing a risk to clubs futures.
Football teams to raise funds from alternative channels
